Frequently Asked Questions

Can I borrow / rent one of your costumes?

I'm sorry but No. These are in my own personal collection and are not available for rental. I would be happy to recreate my costumes for your personal use.

Can you make me a costume I see on here?

Of course! If I have already made it I can make it exactly the same as you see in the photos or make any detail changes that you might prefer to have made.

Can you make a costume that is not on here?

Sure thing! I don't work with heavy leather, metal or that sort of thing; fabric only. If I can't make a costume for you I will definitely try to forward you to someone who can.

Measurements

What sort of measurements do you need from me?

Once I receive payment I will then send you a list of measurements I need from you. Due to the fact that the garment is custom-ordered, it is NOT returnable, but alterations (within reason) can and will be made to ensure that the client is pleased with the item. However, the client will be responsible for the shipping charges for the alterations. You are responsible for your own measurements, and it is highly recommended that you go to a professional tailor or seamstress to be measured. Please do not estimate what your measurements will be or what you would like them to be when it is time for me to deliver your item. I will create the costume using those measurements given and if it does not fit I will not be at fault.

ExampleMeasurement chart

  1. 1. Bust Measurement: Measure the broadest part of your chest over the breast.
  2. 2. Waist: Measure your natural waist.
  3. 3. Hips: Measure over the widest part of the hips.
  4. 4. Chest Depth: Measure the highest place of shoulder (base of neck) up to the chest top.
  5. 5. Front Waist Length: Measure the highest place at shoulder over the chest to lower edge of waist.
  6. 6. Back Length: From base of neck to lower edge of waist.
  7. 7. Breadth of Shoulder: From base of neck to edge of shoulder.
  8. 8. Sleeve Length: Cock arm slightly and measure from the edge of shoulder over the elbow to the wrist. With a short sleeve measure from shoulder to the point you would like the sleeve to end.
  9. 9. Bicep (Upper Arm size): Measure over the widest part of your bicep.
  10. 10. Neck size: Measure close to the base of your neck.
  11. 11. Length: Measure from the base of your neck to the top of you feet or floor (not at your ankle). This will tell me where to hem the skirt bottom.

Payment

Why aren't there any prices anywhere?

Many factors determine how much a custom costume will cost; such as your choice in fabrics & degree of detailing. When emailing me please provide information and pictures or descriptions of the costume you are interested in as well as your general dress/pants size and your budget. You must determine how much you are willing to spend. Budget restrictions go a long way in determining how complex an outfit we design and the fabrics and trims we will use. Please note that quotes are subject to change. Please also note that most custom costumes *start* at $250 which covers a custom designed patterning fee and labor on said pattern. Materials and labor costs for the actual costumes are then added from there.

Some tips on helping me create your outfit:

* Detail what is most important to you. Color? Silhouette? Fabric?

* Any good images you can find will be helpful in aiding me to understand what you want.

* If you're at a loss, pictures of what you don't want can sometimes be a good start!

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept US money orders as well as credit cards thru PayPal. I do not accept personal checks or international money orders. All orders require a 50% deposit at the time of ordering. Final payment will be due 30 days before your order is due to ship. Payment plans may be worked out but the agreed schedule must be kept in order to keep delivery date. Payments are non-refundable. Should you in any way not meet my requests for information in a timely manner your delivery date will be pushed back as required by my current work load. You will still receive your costume but not at the date first quoted unless special arrangements are made or rush fees paid. I will hold incomplete orders for up to one year as valid. After one year, I will consider your order "void" and you will forfeit all payments you have made and your order will be cancelled. No exceptions.

Once I have your downpayment and you have given me all the requested information I have asked for I will then confirm your delivery date. When you first contact me I can give you an approximate delivery date that is valid only once I get all your measurements; only THEN can I confirm delivery and I will consider your order 'Confirmed'.

Shipping

Turn-around time is currently at least 16 weeks depending on many things such as fabric / materials availability & complexity of the costume. I sometimes can do rush orders for an extra fee if you need the costume ASAP. I sometimes book over a year out but often have openings so please email me to discuss.

Once your order is completed I will contact you with various options for shipping. The customer is responsible for the actual shipping costs which cannot be predetermined as the weight of the finished commission is needed to give an accurate shipping cost. Once final payment is received for shipping your item will be mailed by your choice of shipping options. I am not responsible for any delay in your receipt of your items due to your choice of shipping speed and I am also not responsible for delay in shipping due to delay in payment for shipping

Refunds and Exchanges

Payments are non-refundable. Should you in any way not meet my requests for information in a timely manner your delivery date will be pushed back as required by my current work load. It is your responsibility to respond to my emails or notify me of any delays, I will not send repeated emails. You will still receive your costume but not at the date first quoted unless special arrangements are made or rush fees paid. I will hold incomplete orders for up to six months as valid. After six months with no communications or arrangements made by a customer I will consider the order "abandoned" and you will forfeit all payments you have made and your order will be cancelled. No exceptions.

Acts of God

Please note – sometimes things happen that are beyond even MY control, such as weather, vehicular problems, injuries or health concerns, family emergencies, or any other daily occurrence that may hinder my ability to produce a product. If your order is impacted due to a circumstance outside of my control, please know that I will do everything I can to make sure the proper action is taken. That may mean filing insurance claims for a lost item, rescheduling production of your item or a full refund if deemed necessary. Please note that all cases are different, and each will be evaluated on its own merit. That said, my ultimate goal is a happy customer – rest assured that I will do all I can to help you achieve your costuming goal!
